41. Song of the 144,000

IMAGE EXPLANATION: In the image above, the Apostle John is in the lower left corner, recording the vision. The 144,000 are in the upper left. The twenty-four Elders are in the center of the image, with the Lamb and the Throne above them. The four Seraphim (described earlier in Revelation) are arranged around the throne. The Lamb is not on the throne because he is standing on Mount Zion: which implies that Christ’s victory over Jerusalem and Armageddon is already accomplished in the eyes of heaven.

REVELATION 14.1 I saw, and behold, the Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with him one hundred forty-four thousand, having his name, and the name of his Father, written on their foreheads. 14.2 I heard a sound from heaven, like the sound of many waters, and like the sound of a great thunder. The sound which I heard was like that of harpists playing on their harps. 14.3 They sing a new song before the throne, and before the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn the song except the one hundred forty-four thousand, those who had been redeemed out of the earth.

14.4 These have not been with women, for they are virgins. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were redeemed by Jesus from among men, the first fruits to God and to the Lamb. 14.5 In their mouth was found no lie, for they are blameless. -WEB Bible.

There is worship in heaven once again, as the 144,000 witnesses join the rest of the saints in the throne room of God. We don't know how the 144,000 Evangelists come to be in heaven, but Revelation leaves plenty of hints for us. Most likely they are martyrs.

There is much joy in heaven as the family of God is gathered together at last. More will join them soon because a final harvest is coming.
