13. The Lamb is Worthy

REVELATION 5.8 Now when (the Lamb) had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

5.9 They sang a new song, saying, “You are worthy to take the book, and to open its seals: for you were killed, and bought us for God with your blood, out of every tribe, language, people, and nation, 5.10 and made us kings and priests to our God, and we will reign on the earth.”

5.11 I saw, and I heard something like a voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousands of ten thousands, and thousands of thousands; 5.12 saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb who has been killed to receive the power, wealth, wisdom, strength, honor, glory, and blessing!”

5.13 I heard every created thing which is in heaven, on the earth, under the earth, on the sea, and everything in them, saying, “To him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb be the blessing, the honor, the glory, and the dominion, forever and ever! Amen!” -WEB Bible.

In Revelation 5, we are told that the Lion of Judah is also the Lamb of God. All the heavenly beings rejoice that the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, has the power to set mankind free from corruption and redeem them for God.

Have you been redeemed by the blood of Jesus? Revelation is not merely a doomsday book: it also preaches the gospel of hope in Jesus Christ.

The next chapters of Revelation tell us what will happen when those seven seals are broken: earth as we know it will eventually be destroyed. But this chapter 5 tells us why: it is necessary and essential for corruption on earth to come to an end. It is time for righteousness to be established on the earth!

People ask me, "Why does God allow evil to happen?" Well, God won't allow it forever. He's already beginning the process of putting an end to it. That's why things are getting worse: God is sifting the good from the bad. What's in the heart of each of us will be revealed to all.
